Drink Up!

In my water journey, which began with a speech about hydration and health, I was surprised to learn that thirst is the body's final signal for needed water.  That means that if you wait until you're thirsty, your body has already begun rationing, or restricting, the amount of water needed by the five main organs: the brain, heart, liver, kidneys and lungs.

Alternative medicine shows that chronic, mild dehydration is the cause of many disorders, ranging from arthritis to cholesterol to high blood pressure.  Is it any wonder that the pharmaceuticals are raking in billions of dollars annually?

Just think: ailments that some consider inevitable can be avoided simply by drinking water!  Of course, I'm assuming you're already eating properly, sleeping eight hours, exercising, and enjoying peace of mind.  The body asks so little, yet without these, demands so much for repair.

That's why I not only drink water throughout the day and night, but now I'm drinking the ultimate water -- "structured" (hexagonal) water, the kind that actually enters the cells!  More on this in my next installment.

Stay tuned, and stay hydrated!

Are You Sick or Just Thirsty?

A large portion of the American population is mildly but chronically dehydrated (Journal of American Dietetic Assn., 1999).  Could that be the reason for the proliferation of commercials selling prescription drugs for everything from asthma to fibromyalgia?  How about those side effects that are ten times worse than the original complaint?  There's something wrong with this picture.

Water is your life source, your friend! Did you know that sugar, alchohol and caffeine are "water stealers"?  It may be our favorite food group, but we MUST compensate with plenty of pure water.

The proverbial eight glasses a day has been updated to this formula: half your body weight in ounces per day.  I am 130 pounds, and I drink about 65 ounces (two quarts) but some of that is in the raw fruit and vegetables that I crave.  Our bodies are 70% water, so it makes sense to keep the system watered.

Check it out:  Do your own research to see how many ailments are caused by dehydration.  Then you can change from pill-popper to water drinker!
